Weird Noise

Weird noise in flight can make passengers anxious. “Is this sound normal?” we always asked in mind. Let us explained several common kinds of weird noise when the airplane is approaching the airport. When the airplane descends, you will hear continuous wind noises from time to time, which can last 10 to 20 seconds each time. This wind noise comes from the spoilers deploying to decelerate the airplane during descent.

When the airplane further approaches the airport, you will hear a noise that sounds like a motor rotation, which lasts for 3 to 5 seconds. It is the sound of deploying the flaps from the wing, the flaps can help the wing increase lift when the airplane is in low airspeed. Another kind of noise accompanied by a quick vibration is likely the landing gear door open and the landing gear coming out.
